About the event

Many people come to Pilates seeking strength, mobility, or relief from tension — yet still find themselves feeling tight, uncomfortable, or unsure if they’re “doing it right.”


This workshop exists to answer why — and to show you that there is more to understand, and far more ease available, when awareness leads the movement.


What this session explores

We will gently and intelligently unpack the why behind the work, helping you understand how your body is meant to organise, support itself, and recover — both in Pilates and in everyday life.


You will be guided through:

  • How to engage your deep core with clarity, not force

  • What the deep core line is — from pelvic floor and diaphragm, all the way through to the deep neck flexors

  • How breath influences tension, recovery, and support — and how to work with different breathing strategies in Pilates

  • Shoulder girdle organisation and what truly supports healthy, free shoulders

  • What stabilises the hips and knees, and why strength without awareness often leads to discomfort

  • The often-overlooked role of the feet as the foundation for balance, strength, and whole-body integration

  • How nervous system regulation and recovery influence how your body holds — or releases — tension


Throughout the session, we focus on felt understanding, not choreography — learning what to notice, what to feel, and what truly matters.
